QUALIFICATIONS

 

To qualify for citizenship in Dominica, applicants must fulfill one of the investment options below in addition to meeting the following criteria:

  • Be of outstanding character.

  • Hold no criminal record.

  • Have excellent health.

  • Have a basic knowledge of English.

 

INVESTMENT OPTIONS

 

1. Economic Diversification Fund Donation

 

A. Single Applicant

A single applicant is required to make a nonrefundable contribution of US$200,000 to the Economic Diversification Fund.

B. Spouse

A nonrefundable contribution of US$50,000 for a qualified spouse.

C. Family Option

A nonrefundable contribution of US$250,000 qualifies a family of four, including the main applicant, the spouse, and two other dependents.

D. Dependents

Additional dependents under 18: US$25,000

Additional dependents 18 years of age and over: US$40,000

E. Siblings

A nonrefundable contribution of US$50,000 per qualified sibling aged 18-25 of the main applicant or the spouse.

 

2. Real Estate Investment

 

Applicants may purchase property valued at a minimum of US$200,000 in a government-approved real estate development. The investment must be maintained for a minimum of three years. If maintained and sold after five years, the property qualifies the next applicant for citizenship as well.

 

Nationals of the following countries and territories will be treated on a case-by-case basis: Afghanistan, Chechnya, Iraq, North Korea, Pakistan, Sao Tome Principe, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.

 

Exceptions are applicants who have been legal residents in other countries for 10 years or more and whose investment funds do not originate from one of the above-mentioned countries. For case-by-case eligibility, please contact us.

APPLICATION FEES

​Visa Line's Advisory fees are based on the number of dependents, country of origin, residence and other retained services, as well as service and legal fees related to the submission of citizenship and passport application for the main applicant. The advisory fees are non- refundable and are payable in two equal installments.

All application fees charged by the Dominica government and by Visa Line are subject to change. Fees depend on the number of applicants and the complexity of the process. Please contact us if you have any questions or need more information.

ADDITIONAL FEES

Applicants will need to pay any additional government, passport application, and due diligence fees associated with their chosen investment, and according to the number of dependents.

GOVERNMENT REAL ESTATE FEES

US$75,000: Single applicant.

US$100,000: Family of up to 4 people (including main applicant and up to 3 dependents).

Additional dependents under 18: US$25,000

Additional dependents 18 years of age and over: US$40,000

PROCESSING AND DUE DILIGENCE FEES

$1,000: Per application.

US$7,500: Main applicant.

US$4,000: Spouse.

US$4,000: Dependent 16 and above.

INTERVIEW FEES

US$1,000: Per application.

Nationals of specified countries (S.R.O No.8 of 2023) will have to undergo enhanced due diligence at additional cost.

Passport issuance fees are applicable. Interview fees for all applicants 16 years and above also apply​​.​

APPLICATION PROCESS AND TIMELINE

MONTH 1

1.   Client qualification, KYC pre-screening and onboarding. File preparation. Visa Line issues pre-approval letter. Advisory and due diligence fees are due at this step.

MONTH 2

2.   Citizenship file submission.

MONTH 3

3. The Government’s Citizenship-by-Investment Unit issues an Approval in Principle letter.

4.   Investment made in selected option. Payment of government fees, if applicable

MONTH 4

5.   Naturalization Certificate is issued.

6.   Submission of passport application. Passport issued.

FAQ 1. Does my Dominica Citizenship extend to my family?

Citizenship can be extended to dependents, including your spouse, children, parent,s and grandparents, as well as spouses of dependent parents, grandparents, and siblings. The fees will vary according to the number of family members you include in your application for citizenship.

FAQ 2. Is Dominica's Real Estate option a good investment?

Yes. Dominica has an emerging eco-tourism sector that continues to receive international acclaim, creating an ideal landscape for real estate investment. With global brands like Hilton and Kempinski in addition to unique boutique resorts, Dominica has been featured in leading publications such as Travel + Leisure, Caribbean Travel Awards, and Conde Nast Traveller.

FAQ 3. Can I sell my investment in Dominica?

Yes, but you must hold the investment for at least 5 years before it can be resold to another CIP investor. The investment can be sold to a non-Dominica CIP buyer after 3 years instead of 5 years.

FAQ 4. Can I renew my Dominica passport if I have already sold the investment property?

Yes, as long as you held the property for the required number of years after obtaining your citizenship.

FAQ 5. Can I apply to Dominica's program directly without an agent?

No, all applications must go through an authorized agent such as Visa Line.
